The physical phone is not the story. A year from now, the iPhone 3G will be replaced by another new model. The platform is the story. Platforms have staying power, and, once entrenched, are very hard to displace.

Aldus het kabinet. Wat mij dan weer doet afvragen waarom ze zo aan het klooien zijn op het voortgezet onderwijs. Het uitdunnen van de wiskunde vakken en de introductie van het constructief wiskunde leren hebben tot gevolg dat leerlingen de stelling van pythagoras nog net weten te gebruiken. Om van de abc formule maar te zwijgen. Het onderwijs is doorgeschoten in hun constructivisme.Ik geef toe, er is heel wat voor het constructief onderwijs te zeggen en het zal best helpen op het VMBO, maar ik heb zo mijn twijfels of dit de juiste weg is voor HAVO/VWO. Immers, het eerste wat men op een technische HBO of Universiteits opleiding doet is in het eerste semester alle stof van de HAVO/VWO doorjakkeren. Constructief leren? Niets daarvan, formules kennen, weten hoe ze afgeleid worden en hoe je er in alle variaties mee kan werken. Technische opleidingen moeten populairder, en dat mag wat kosten (110 miljoen euro). Maar ze mogen nog zo populair zijn, als de studenten niet mee kunnen komen heb je er weinig aan. De HBO/Uni opleidingen aanpassen aan het VO is geen optie. Was het niet dat het VO voorbereidend was op HBO/Uni? Dus moet het VO aangepast, en niet andersom. Gelukkig zijn de wijze heren zich hier ook wel bewust van geworden en zal er (hopenlijk) een mooie tussenweg komen tussen het constructief en mechanisch onderwijs.
Vandaag is Bo Diddley overleden op 79 jarige leeftijd. Doodsoorzaak was hartfalen. Moge hij "daarboven" voor eeuwig de blues spelen. Waarschijnlijk was het onweer vuurwerk van vanavond het welkomsfeest in de hemel.Ik ben met de muziek van Bo Diddley opgegroeid, mijn vader was (en is) een fan van dat genre, dus onderstaande "I'm a roadrunner baby" kan ik zo'n beetje dromen.
