Kindle iPhone georestrictions fail

I downloaded the Kindle iPhone app from the (US) appstore and logged on with it.
Then I went through the cumbersome process of selecting a book an buying it (the app needs in-app buying of books!).
After going through all the steps, and after choosing the iPhone as device to send the book to, I get the following geographical restriction error.

Screw you, amazon. And screw all these region specific limitations. This is the internet! (this goes out to you too, Hulu and Apple)

This sucks big time!
For example you are a US customer on Holiday in Europe. And cannot buy books in Amerika? Same goes for European customers who are in holiday on Amerika!
Let's see, i go on holiday in New York. I forgot to bring a guide! I find it in the dutch store, in dutch language. But can't buy it from within New York!?

That's just STUPID.

Amazon really doesn't seem to understand it. Hope there will be an update for the app soon and georestirctions soon. Amazon is losing money/customers this way.
Living in the U.S. I can't relate too much, but damn, I can imagine the frustration. I thought the point of the internet was global communication, or was I wrong?
I bought the book I wanted from mobipocket (an amazon company since 2005), removed DRM using a python script and then used SSH to manually copy it to Kindle's ebooks folder on the iPhone. It cost me $6 more than it would have cost me on the kindle store, but at least now I have the book on the iphone and didn't have to wait for the dead tree version to ship for the price of the book itself. You can use Stanza too, but if one day Amazon lifts this geo restriction it's good to know you'll be able to have all your books in one app.
