I am not sure if this was a Perseid or a stray meteor that showed up in the image although I am pretty sure the direction is right for it to be a Perseid. I have quite a few images, most of them misses, showing nothing but stars or planes (and an occasional satellite passing over).
I did find a way to capture a lot that is using higher ISO, shorter exposure and interval timing.
So I was shooting 20 second interval shots of 15 seconds at F2.8 ISO 1000 with the D700 at 17mm. I wish I had a fisheye. The camera was mounted on a tripod and I was using a JJC remote shutter cable release.
Visually we (@luclodder and me) caught 11 Perseids, of which two were very bright.
I found out my camera was still set to daylight savings time. Oh well. I think I'm going to set it to UTC and not touch it anymore.
